The SRM15 1/4 bag Roaster

15 kg (33 lb.) Fluid Bed Roaster

SRM15 - Fluid Air Bed Roaster

The core competencies of efficiency, reliability, repeatability and simplicity…these are all things that we did not lose sight of when we set about to redesign the original fluid bed roaster. With hundreds of roasters still in operation all around the world, Sivetz roasters are workhorses with a proven track record and a loyal following.

Now we can add improved ergonomics, a refined design, the ability to modulate both airflow and gas, and the ability to set and store roast profiles.

Updates to the design

1.

Larger viewing window into the roast chamber. Heavy-duty removable aluminum window frame.

2. Newly designed stainless steel “armadillo” bean deflector and larger bean exit chute. Deflector articulates, allowing better access into the roast chamber to assist bean removal.

3. Newly designed removable stainless steel funnel and machined intake chute. Funnel can hold a full batch, ready to be dropped when the chamber is clear.

4.
Rolled-lip ducting with clamps. Easy to install and clean without any need for glue or tape.

5.
Redesigned stainless steel chaff collector and chaff bucket. New twist/lock bucket for easy removal, a sight glass to check chaff levels, and rolling wheels.

  • The newly designed PLC-based control panel with touchscreen interface allows full control over fan speed and the ability to modulate the gas intake. Adjusting these variables in small increments together with the agility of directly heating the beans gives a head roaster the tools they need to create a desired roast profile. Once this profile has been set, it can be replicated by others to deliver the consistent taste your customers come to expect.

For those who want to apply third-party software such as Artisan or Cropster, there is a Modbus TCP connection that will allow data to flow in both directions.

Furthermore, an internal VPN router will provide remote access with the ability to diagnose problems and update the PLC remotely.

  • A Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) is used to control fan speed, allowing bean loft in the roast chamber to be optimized.

Profiles can be set to gradually slow fan speed to account for weight loss as the roast progresses.

Control over fan speed allows for smaller batches, with pre-set profiles for 7 kg (15 lbs) and 15 kg (33 lbs).

Saves energy and cost, cutting down energy use and prolonging the life of the motor.

  • The Inlet Temperature can be adjusted, allowing fine-tuned precision and direct control of the roast.

Internal PID automatically regulates gas flow to hold the desired Inlet Temp and will calibrate quickly when changes are made.

Since there is no drum as a barrier, temperature adjustments are quickly transferred directly to the beans, allowing for better control and more consistent roast profiling.

The control panel allows one to create, store, and repeat pre-set and designed roast profiles.
